On a related subject, note especially that dogs are NOT allowed on hiking trails, and are allowed in public areas such as campgrounds and picnic areas only if on a leash.Never feed any wild animal and never approach a wild animal in the hope of getting a better photo. That's a total of just 10 miles off the interstate! TN32 continues as a very winding 2-lane all the way to the NC line at Davenport Gap; if that's where you're going, it's much easier to leave I40 at the Waterville exit, go a couple miles to a 4-way intersection just outside the park entrance, then go right to double back for 1.5 miles on a reasonable dirt road to Davenport Gap...
