Canon G1 X versus Sony NEX-5N at base ISO Canon G1 X at ISO 100 Sony NEX-5N at ISO 100 We expected a different result pitting the 16-megapixel NEX-5N against the 14.1-megapixel G1 X, but the G1 X looks sharper overall. The Movie Digest videos are stored by the camera, and at the end of a day's shooting, are automatically stitched together into a single video showing all of the day's clips in sequence
Canon PowerShot SX60 HS review - CNET

It's joined by a programmable shortcut button that's been relocated from the other side of the camera, making it much easier to quickly change something like the light metering or white-balance settings without looking at the controls. It doesn't give you much control -- just zoom, self-timer, shutter release, and flash (assuming you've popped it up) -- but it's nice to have for shooting wildlife and group portraits

Bottom line: the Canon is a bit smaller and lighter, cheaper, has a long, long telephoto (not important for me), but a much slower lens, and it would appear noticeably sharper and cleaner image quality. MY ADVICE-Shooting sports, knocking it around- SX50 Remember that they get to that long zoom by using a small sensor, but it does work and the RAW shots are workable
Canon PowerShot SX50 HS: Review

When shooting with the camera in real-life situations, we found that the autofocus lacked responsiveness and didn't lock onto subjects particularly well at very long focal lengths. IMAGE QUALITY The SX50 HS uses the same internal electronics as the SX40 HS, with a 12-Megapixel BSI CMOS sensor, but the 2012 model comes with a new lens, upped from a 35x zoom to a 50x zoom
NIkon P900 vs Sony HX400 vs Canon SX60 HS

I personally thought that Nikon would have to use even a smaller sensor to feature this mind blowing zoom, and I'm happy that it's the same size as the P610. This includes the biggest zoom range among the three cameras with the best optical stabilization mechanism, allowing up to 5-stop shutter speed compensation

That's why some people prefer going with a camera with less zoom but better optical performance at the tele-end instead with a very big zoom which can lead to softer images at the tele-end. Nikon Coolpix L830 sample video Image quality is very good, but you can see the barrel distortion at the wide angle, but overall it capture nice videos that you can share with your friends

The only slight let-down is that in very quiet scenes the noise of the zoom lens is picked up in the background, as well as some other slight noises from the camera controls. Apart from getting rid of coloured fringes, the image is also sharper, and the lens (which is lifted straight from the SX30) finally comes into its own

Similarly as canon, Fuji features high optical performance glass lens elements (aspherical, high refractive index, and ED glass lenses) make the exceptional brightness of F2.8 at wide angle and F5.6 at telephoto possible. Has any one had both? Can you share your experience? And what about the sony 300 super zoom? Does any other brand come close? Is a carl zeiss lens worth all that? bi (1:39 AM, November 01, 2013) How come sx50 is cheaper? Sx40 is cheaper on Amazon Nicole68 (11:43 PM, September 16, 2013) Which is a better camera? Sx40 or sx50? Justin Chia (2:43 PM, June 22, 2013) Not sure how they come up with 315 shots for SX 40 HS. I understand many of the shots were intuitive such as the re peat capture action mode, where you are blind to what is happening while the shots are captured
Canon PowerShot SX50 HS vs Nikon P510 - Our Analysis

Oops Peter (10:56 AM, November 09, 2012) Nikon bias!I don't see how Nikon P510! Clearly someone who gets paid for Nikon wrote the Nikon P510 review. You haven't metioned these cons of the Nikon P510The screen only goes up and down, it does not rotate. The focus is very slow at 42x zoomIt has GPS which pushes the price up for no reason and drains the batteryYou need to update your old dated reviews. All other cameras gave colors distortion, Fuji (not raw) especially.GPS actually was helpful when I was on resort in Cuba and tagged all "wild" travel, snorkeling and scuba locations
