The Man Format the USB stick as NTFS Make USB Volume Active Open up an (Administrator) command prompt window Run diskpart.exe and then set your drive and partition to point to the stick. you have to to be sure that in BIOS, where you can select boot priority, the first on the list is USB (on sony vaio vpcw12 i found 4 or 5 of those) Note that this bootable USB guide will not work if you are trying to make a bootable USB on XP computer
