And no insult intended, but how much more confusing is this for more elderly viewers, some of who may have problems such as Dementia etc, who may have problems remembering the channel numbers
RT at least is fairly good at showing when ITV is simulcasting something in HD, but as others have said it does rely on the broadcaster not chopping and changing things at the last minute. Sky seems to be the choice of the day and reluctantly I feel I am being pushed in to getting SKY HD and forget about Freesat altogether especially as the offers from SKY are becoming more and more attractive

The boxes are compliant in that they can receive all FTA channels (which is how I believe the EU directive is worded) - it is merely regional variations of channels that cannot be manually tuned. what are the numbers to manually tune it in then? For those who want to now why the fault appears, I have read some posting that it may have been down to power surges or power cuts, how true this is I can not confirm as I have a powersurge protector multi plug adaptor, obviously not working :( and not aware we had a power cut here. until we were in the middle of watching a program on playback and a new recording started then it was a nightmare for the lipsync being out and the dropouts in sound
The channel only shows one or two HD programmes a day and it does not carry EPG listings so you will have to check listings for the channel yourself, it also cannot be recorded from on a Sky+HD STB.*** ITV HD is currently an interactive application broadcast on Eurobird 28.5, but may launch at some point in the future as a full channel that can be tuned in normally like the rest of the channels on the list. Their frequencies will almost certainly change so if and when they do become available for FTA viewing, their details will be amended on the table for all to easily find and the bold status will be removed so you will know when the frequency provided is for a working FTA version of the channel
