Alternately, depending on what version of iOS you're running, you might be able to jailbreak it, or hacktivate (activate without normal carrier SIM), but this is probably overkill
However, you will need a Jailbreak (NOT AN UNLOCK) to get the MMS to work (sending of picture and video text messages) as it requires APN editing to get that to work. They also were the only ones that had the system you could operate your iPhone on unless you were willing to jailbreak your phone and void your warranty and technical support
Along the way I did chat with Samsung US (chat feature) and they were helpful but one thing they said was that Samsung US does not support the GT-i9250 phone because it is the international version.
