BSA adds Honor Guard patch for Boy Scouts
This patch should be one of honor to wear as it will signify to others by it mere appearance that the individual knows how to properly do a flag ceremony. I can attest with my extensive involvement in the trenches with youth across all programs that, as this stands without guidelines, some will abuse its wear (patch hounds), others will wear it with minimal or improper guidance, and MANY will ignore it because it lacks integrity in how it can essentially be worn by anyone

The tip I got from the boy who has the most merit badges in our troop is to sew them right straight across the entire row of merit badges. I just did it and it looks great, the husband is concerned that they might get caught on something so he suggested sewing 3 rows across all the rows of badges so that is what I did
Dread sewing on Scout or uniform patches? Use fabric glue!
When my 11 yr old nephew started boy scouts his mom used the glue stuff which worked ok for about 2 months before starting to come off and making the uniform look shabby and poorly put together. We used to keep everything cookie patch when I was a girl scout, and some girls would have remnants of past uniforms on their patches from where their parents had to cut them off when the glue was stuck

Other Packs make the parents buy it as part of the uniform.After all beads are earned the Scout is done with their Tiger and after getting that Tiger badge (cloth badge) awarded and sewn onto the uniform, the bead hanging thing is taken OFF the uniform and put away as a keepsake or whatever.Hope this helps

The 1954 General Shoe ad shows a moc, a moc with a seam at the front of the toe, and a boot which looks like WWII Army boots with double buckle with BSA logo at the top front above the ankles. are there specific regulations as to what can and cant be worn for one's patrol patch? i was kind of interested in replacing mine with a custom patrol patch with a family symbol on it or something like that
