If I did have a heat gun then the way to go is to protect the surrounding components with heat resistant tape or shielding and then heat the chip up gradually by bringing the heat gun closer and closer over a period of 10 mins or so. I tried the jailbroken, hacktivated ipsw and it loaded up okay and allows me to use the phone (albeit with tethered boot) but I found that all the radios were not working (wifi, bluetooth, 3G, 2G) and also the UDID, ICCID, IMEI and modem version numbers are completely missing

Unlock For iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G On iOS 4.2.1 Released

  http://www.iphonehacks.com/2010/11/unlock-for-iphone-3gs-iphone-3g-ios-on-4-2-1released.html
Is there any way to unlock without using Wifi? B i have a 3gs os4.1 bb05.14.02 so basically my question is when do i update to 4.2? before or after i use redsn0w? cause it says to select the corresponding IPSW for my current firmware. PwnageTool extracts the exploitable baseband in iOS 3.2.2 and will replace the baseband in iPhone ipsw, which you then need to use to restore your iPhone

  http://ihelpcorner.com/FixNoService511
2) Use Redsnow 0.9.14.b1 with official IOS 5.1.1 IPSW (select extras then select manually specify IPSW from the redsnow menu) 3) choose back on the redsnow menu, put your phone into DFU mode jailbreak the device and choose these options: install cydia, upgrade with iPad baseband continue through the warnings. any thoughts? Reply arslan says: August 28, 2012 at 8:59 am same is the case with me, plz help Reply soban says: May 30, 2012 at 3:10 pm In order to unlock 3GS 5.1.1 BB 6.15.00, just do a tethered JB with Rocky Rcoccoon, then install ultrasnow fixer first thru cydia and then finally the ultrasnow

Solution 3 iPhone 3G, 2G and iPod Touch 1G, iPod Touch 2G users running OS 3.1.2 can use a handy little utility named iREB (iTunes Restore Error Bypasser) to get rid of error 16xx or 29: Download iREB Start iTunes and put your iPhone into DFU mode: How to Put iPhone in DFU Mode Now close iTunes and Start iREB on your PC. Reply Link Dr Doug October 12, 2010, 7:37 pm My experience: some iTunes installs are missing iPhone drivers, leaves the iPhone in a Recovery Loop error 29

You will have to backup Cydia apps (PkgBackup on Cydia), iTunes should take care of all the other data (remember to sync your iPhone to iTunes and let it perform a full backup..).. Then your iphone will disconnect from your pc and connect back, leave it plugged in and it should shortly connect to itunes and you should see the iphone screen say its been activated and connected successfuly

What could be my problem? Tahneea Hoffman Hi! So I went to update my jailbroken iphone 5 to ios 7, the update failed, and like alot of others, is now only giving me the option to restore and update, I saved most of my pictures, but not alot of important ones I tried doing a hard reset, no luck, tried wondershare, simply goes to apple icon, 2x then back to the black screen with the cable connecting to itunes. Im hoping you are still around to help a girl out ! thank you Robin please help i cant find a solution for this anywhere my iphone 3gs battery stopped working so i replaced it now it starts up in recovery mode when i try to restore iphone it says not enough space and that i should remove some apps or empty recycle bin but when i try to access it, it says i need to restore it first or it wont work

Expect an ultrasn0w compatibility update for iOS 6.0 by Friday (mostly useful for 3GS old-bootrom users who are currently enjoying the untethered 6.0 jailbreak!)

Put Your iPhone in DFU Mode Using LAST DFU Software

  http://jaxov.com/2011/02/put-your-iphone-in-dfu-mode-without-home-power-button-with-last-dfu/
I also tried to put my iPhone 4 into DFU mode using 'LAST DFU' but i ended up in an infinite recovery mode loop and had to restore my iPhone to get it working again. Just connect your iPhone 2G or iPhone 3G to your Mac via USB cable and hit the 'Enter DFU Mode' button to put your iPhone into DFU mode and 'Exit DFU Mode' button to kick your iPhone out of recovery mode.Note that if you are on Mac OS X 10.5 (or less), 'LAST DFU' will only work if your iPhone 2G or iPhone 3G is running iOS 4.0.2 or earlier

After the installation is done, your iOS device will be jailbroken on iOS 4.2.1 Now go to Cydia and install UltraSn0w to unlock your phone After it work good and if you get No Service then follow below steps. Maybe try in a different thread or make 1 yourself, as this is an 6 month old thread and asking someone who has only 1 posting i would not expect an answer..

Maybe you installed a incompatible tweak? Try Cydia Substrate's (Mobile Substrate's) safety feature: If that doesn't help, it could be that a tweak you installed before rebooting (even days before rebooting) is very incompatible with your version of iOS, which could cause a "boot loop" (getting the Apple logo over and over). The computer on which you are running greenpois0n needs to have a good, non-proxied broadband internet connection, which is needed because greenpois0n downloads a couple of payload files (the iBSS and kernelcache of your device firmware) from Apple

iPhone DFU mode explained, and how to enter DFU mode on your iPhone

Google it and follow the directions Reply quad king says: August 26, 2011 at 6:20 am it works thanks so much in love u Reply Helper says: February 26, 2011 at 8:58 pm You need to hold Shift+Alt+click restore. I put mine in DFU mode like the instructions say above and then unplugged and replugged it and then ran my greenposion program it recogonized it and past right threw

  http://www.ihackintosh.com/2009/06/recovery-mode-and-dfu-mode/
What I did to solve it was get the iphone into dfu, download the 3.0 OFFICIAL iphone firmware, connect my iphone to pc, open itunes, press shift+restore and select the 3.0 IPSW, then after you get back on 3.0, you need to use redsn0w to unlock. Because of this, firmware downgrading must be done in DFU mode. This means if you need to restore your iPhone to current version simply put the iPhone in recovery mode and iTunes takes care of the rest but if you need to downgrade your current firmware to lower one you need to put your iPhone in DFU mode
