Poetry is probably the most practised creative exercise in the world; not everyone writes a short story, a novel, or paints a picture, but everyone has written a poem (remember when you were a love struck teenager?). says that "when teaching poetry to my freshmen and sophomores, I try to stress the idea that modern poetry can often be seen (or heard) through song lyrics

Either that or you're not a very good guitarist - it's probably one of the two.Apparently, sometime Stones ivory tinkler Ian Stewart refused to record the piano part because of his dislike of minor chords. It's testament to Taylor's skills as a tunesmith that he managed to turn these sombre themes into something so beautiful; listen out for Carole King on the piano, too.If you want to learn to play Fire and Rain, there's a nice video lesson

Off the wire: Life by the Drop

Tonight I came back from a run feeling like I wanted to hear it, and shortly thereafter felt like I wanted to Google it, knowing that most quests for deeper meaning in pop music start out a search for mystery and end up crashing into incoherence. A song can strike me at some particular moment of my life or resonate with a given circumstance until it sinks into my mind, and I stop trying to figure out what it means

Please try again 25 of 27 people found the following review helpfulThe Sky IS Crying By Matt on August 20, 2001Format: Audio CD Funny how what is probably my favorite Stevie Ray Vaughan release of original material is the one that came out after he had passed away.Basically, this is a collection of outtakes and stuff that never made it to the other studio albums. Of course, Life by the Drop is Stevie's acoustical foray, and he does it quite well, and the subject matter he sings about makes the playing even more chilling

may I ask do you play guitar? if so how can you downgrade eruption? can YOU personally play it up to speed(even though i was wrong, he is playing slow with delay to sound fast)? or have you even heard eruption before i posted it? nice try jackass... me personally, when i was younger, and i first heard eruption i was like "whoa, shit man, this is awesome! i have to learn how the hell to play that" man that's what most people say, including dime kurt and zakk wylde

When SRV played this song, clean and sober, you could feel the power and soul he put into it, and this above all else, is what makes want to become a great guitarist

Listen to SRV sing this song again and pay careful attention to the last few lines "Livin' our dream...." and "My mind stopped achin'..." and you will see this song in a clearer light... So what I'm saying is, even if you could get Boyle to talk about the song and give you all the details about what the song means to him, it's irrelevant
