And when this epistle is read among you, cause that it be read also in the church of the Laodiceans; and that ye likewise read the epistle from Laodicea. Is Jesus coming to be crucified for a second time? Brenda Murphy says: December 4, 2014 at 7:56 pm No, Christ is not coming back to be crucified the second time, for he died once for all, as the Bible says

Though they acknowledged that some states have child abuse reporting laws, they said allegations should otherwise be kept secret to all but church leaders. I felt that most of the book was pretty dark, but the glossary was a slightly snarky sort of funny that I thought was great (and I'm not usually a fan of snark). Jehovah's Witnesses' beliefs, for example, that attending birthday parties or buying used furniture will result in demon possession, adds to the silliness

But whether they heard him as such or refrained from hearing and paying attention to him, the occasion was to come when these rebellious people would 'know also that a prophet himself happened to be in the midst of them.' Jehovah would confirm him as a prophet before them by causing what Ezekiel prophesied to come true...Likewise it was a trying mission upon which the modern Ezekiel class was sent, to religious people of the same type as those in Ezekiel's day. Revelation 6:9-11 9 When He opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the testimony which they held

If someone wanted to pursue higher education and didn't because of a religious teaching, that is a shame, still, they are wise enough to know that it is still a choice and the religion doesn't condemn or disfellowship those who do pursue higher education. The religion could easily change, change may look like they have no sturdy ground to stand on but it also means that they may not stick to an old out of date belief if the times dictate that it should be changed

The Lord Jesus has taken away my desire for alcohol, and I have been filled with the Holy Spirit, Who is opening the Scriptures to me like I have never seen them before. I must admit that I regret not being able to share the true Gospel with her, but there is nothing that can compare with the joy I have with Christ! I was baptized on May 4, 2008 and my oldest daughter was baptized on August 24, 2008

But there are many other matters which also have to be taken into account and it would be quite wrong for anyone to assume, in any dispute between two parents of whom one is and the other is not a Jehovah's Witness, that the custody and care and control of their child will necessarily, or even more often than not, be given to the latter. Where the practice of that religion involves a lifestyle which conflicts with the lifestyle of the other parent and the court is satisfied that that conflict has had or may in the future have an impact on the child's welfare the court is entitled to restrict the child's involvement in those practices

Perhaps the father, mother, grandfather, grandmother, uncle or aunt, who has not joined the Watch Tower religion, would appreciate some recognition on these special days. Furthermore, before baptism, he must submit to a quite lengthy questionnaire (usually subdivided into three series of some thirty questions each, spread over three sessions taking place over several days or weeks)

My mother asked one of the elders to tell her what blood derivatives he thought would be okay and he told her it was for her to decide as a matter of conscience and he would not try to influence her decision. As girls my sister and I where treated as less than, our clothing, our ability to share our opinion, our curfew, our roles, our futures where all considered to be secondary to the males in our family and in the church

Was Jesus asking himself why has he forsaken himself? My answer: Do you really want to know what Jesus was saying in those Scriptures? First of all, it must be noted that Jesus is here quoting words from Psalm 22. Why do you spend so much time talking about it? Shouldn't we concentrate on the things Jesus said and what did when he was here on earth? My answer: I'm sorry that Jesus' crucifixion is an object of horror and loathing for you

Later history of Christmas in Europe and America By the early Middle Ages Christmas had come to mark the beginning of the calendar year and was celebrated as a civil holiday in Europe. It stems from a tradition about the Hebrew patriarchs who were supposed to have lived a full number of years, since the perfection of God could not have tolerated the imperfection of fractions! In this belief the patriarchs were said to have died on their birthday

Jehovah's Witness - children's birthday parties?

we always celebrated the twelve day festival of Yule, which is older than Christmas, and involves fires, stories, food and alcohol, and the giving of small gifts... It does not make me wrong or you right religion is a touchy subject, but my neighbours will give their daughter a Happy naming day a day after she was born and celebrate Merry Winter with loads of presents one day after Xmas and then Happy chick day one day after Easter all so the child does not miss out

History of Jehovah's Witness birthday and Christmas celebrations

Here, more perhaps than elsewhere, exists that "present" which shall be brought unto Jehovah (Isaiah 18:7), earth's oblation (Ezekiel 45:1) to God of that class who, when in the age to come the restitution hosts shall be numbered, shall be found to have been "born in Zion" (Psalm 87:5, 6), taken out of the world and given, in a figure, as humanity's present to their God, to be forever sons and servants of the Most High. (See Birthdays for detailed information on why the Watchtower ruling against birthdays is wrong.) Most Witnesses struggle to explain why they can't without some embarrassment at the shallow reasoning used

Birthdays.

(See The Watchtower Oct 15, 1998, Questions From Readers re: why it's ok to celebrate a wedding anniversary and not a birthday anniversary.) Why Jehovah's Witnesses Don't Celebrate Holidays. This is because such celebrations focus too much attention on the individual and the only birthdays of Bible record are those of pagan rulers who did not serve God

Why Jehovah's Witnesses Don't Celebrate Mother's Day.

( See Memorial Celebration ) Why? Because the Watchtower teaches that only 144,000 go to heaven and ONLY these 'anointed' ones are in a relationship with Jesus. The Watchtower says this, 'And should we not strive to be obedient and submissive to those taking the lead in our local congregation?' If celebrating the gift of God's son is so wrong, how come God allowed the celebration for so long before the Watchtower ever declared it wrong? Joe: I know that the Watchtower used to celebrate Christmas but when they learned that it was tied into paganism, they stopped celebrating it. Chris: Were you aware that this is not what the Watchtower originally taught was the origin of Christmas? Joe: What do you mean? Chris: In The Time is at Hand, Vol

There are but only TWO instances of the custom of annual celebration of birthdays recorded in the Bible and it is of great noteworthiness to seekers of God's TRUTH (be such ones members of Jehovah's Witnesses or not) that on BOTH occasions THOSE WHO PARTICIPATED WERE NOT GOD'S FAITHFUL WORSHIPPERS and the events of the celebration were obviously unrighteous. You just won't find US participating (for reasons already stated) and we simply would like people to mutually respect our right and choice NOT to do so
