When his supply of chemicals had been exhausted and could not be replenished, Jekyll, as Hyde, shut himself up in his laboratory and experimented with one drug after another. After the murder, Jekyll had renewed his effort to abandon the nature of Hyde, but one day, walking in the park, he suddenly changed into Hyde and was forced to ask Lanyon to obtain the drug that would change him back to Jekyll

You are puting drinking a lot in your videos, but you just have shown, that you have no fucking clue how the real men drinks and that it means to so many people. The last thing I want to see again is another skeleton of an author that has dialogue which is much better written and executed for a David Mamet film or play

Stevenson suggests that just as Utterson prefers the suppression or avoidance of revelations to the scandal or chaos that the truth might unleash, so too does Victorian society prefer to repress and deny the existence of an uncivilized or savage element of humanity, no matter how intrinsic that element may be. Perhaps, the novel suggests, the chilling presence of Hyde in London is strong enough to penetrate even the rigidly rational shell that surrounds Utterson, planting a seed of supernatural dread

And beyond this presumed crime there are further intrigues: the dark opium dens of the sleepy cathedral town of Cloisterham, and the sinister double life of Choirmaster Jasper, whose drug-fuelled fantasy life belies his respectable appearance. I think our doctor is a bit of an unreliable narrator. It's interesting to think about the symbolism of the names here: the "good" doctor carries the name "Je (French for "I") kill," and the evil Hyde is the part of Jekyll himself that he was always trying to hide. Most of the other characters also seem to have their hidden vices

Hyde is easily viewed as an allegory about the good and evil that exist in all men, and about our struggle with these two sides of the human personality. The prevalence of this value system is evident in the way that upright men such as Utterson and Enfield avoid gossip at all costs; they see gossip as a great destroyer of reputation. He achieves his desired effect through the use of nightmarish imagery, in which dark streets twist and coil, or lie draped in fog, forming a sinister landscape befitting the crimes that take place there

When Utterson and Poole make their final efforts to save Jekyll from Hyde, who they believe has invaded the house and at the least is holding Jekyll hostage, a female maid is one of the group of servants huddled together in one portion of the house. Even worse, we find at the conclusion of the novel that Hyde thoroughly enjoyed committing this violence, and afterwards felt a rush of excitement and satisfaction
