Here is what I can derive from all this: Imbuing a shield at level 29 isn't as good as it is at level 8-12 because at level 29 your defense is quite decent, it's the damage the game is going to worry about since at level 29 the monsters get more life, and you need to deal more damage. When you are at level 29 and you imbue a weapon, the game is going to give you a damage boost because the weapon you currently have is not going to last you very long in nightmare difficulty (unless you have a godly weapon equipped)

Your going to need to quickly be able to bring back anyone killed in the heat of battle, and if due to overwhelming or lit enchants, you need a whole army again, your ready for it(that and the high costs for em), but since your fighting with them, its not as important as a pure summonancer. They are best suited for party questing, where they can greatly help in normal battles, and are aided for the Act bosses(No matter how big or strong your army is, they wont last long against, say, the Lord of Terror himself) There are actually two different types of Summonancers, which play differently

in cold and light i have as fallowing: COLD, 1 in each of 3 Cold Armors skills, 1 in Ice Bolt, and Ice Blast (have to put 1 in each of the ice damage skills to get to all 3 cold armor spells). the equepment i am putting on him consists of, Insight, Gaze, with a perfect Diamond, and eth uped Shafters will give me about the best results without going crazy
Depending upon the type of item, in the Description area, you may see damage (for weapons), one or more requirements and possibly the base number of sockets for the item. But, by default, items are created with Superior quality, which may limit the maximum number of default sockets -- you may need to change the item quality to be Magical, Set, Rare, Unique or Crafted, to have all of the 'base' sockets available
