How to Unlock iPhone 4S FREE Without Jailbreak or Software (iOS 5.0 only!) - HotTips!

Please leave comments in the comments field below, and be sure to tell me whether or not you are trying this with a T-Mobile SIM, or something international. So far, it appears this works with iOS 5.0, however, iOS 5.0.1 will break this, so if it does work for you, I highly recommend you never update your iPhone 4S (at least, until other means of doing an unlock are possible)
http://www.imore.com/how-replace-dock-connector-iphone-4s
Gently lift the shield out of the iPhone and set it aside.Take your spudger tool and gently pry up the dock connector cable and peel it back as shown below. If one part is resistant move your pry tool a little further down and gently start prying it up in different places taking care not to come too close to the volume button cables towards the top.Once you've gotten the battery pulled out of the iPhone 4S we can move on to inserting the replacement battery

Why not get the iPhone Configuration Utility, install it, and then when you get your settings the way that actually works, do a backup with that utility and then in the future, when it gets broken (again!) just connect your iPhone to your computer, fire up the iPCU, and remove the existing profile, and restore it back to the one you want. It works fine.posted by RedOrGreen at 2:23 PM on November 6, 2013 I used a verizion sim card and it stated it was the incorrect carrier and would not activate. Alternately, depending on what version of iOS you're running, you might be able to jailbreak it, or hacktivate (activate without normal carrier SIM), but this is probably overkill

However, if you're not an EE customer and you've got an iPhone that's locked to EE, you'll need to find out the name of the original owner, their EE phone number and any additional account information you can acquire in order to unlock the iPhone. However, some older iPhones may be locked to Virgin Mobile, but you'll just need to update your iPhone to the latest version of iOS to automatically unlock your iPhone

How To Convert A Mini-SIM Into A Micro-SIM For iPhone 4

theone size freddieboy217 According to Steve Jobs at his keynote speech they needed the space for the exrta hardware Spitfire Yeah fair enough, still a pain tho for me to buy a phone on pay n go, then have to cut my sim to size, or wait for bloody networks to get them, ah well will get there in the end. If you have a o2 direct contract and have a sim that looks like the the one thats been cut you will have no problems as I have also tested this on a PAYG sim

Why Have It Unlocked? The reason why some like to have an unlocked iPhone is because the phone can be used worldwide and with different cellular providers. It's fairly easy to cut a regular SIM down to a micro-SIM, but because the nano-SIM will be thinner as well as smaller than the micro, cutting it down to size will require a little more work

It is also important to mention that the package is environmentally friendly, and hence you can enjoy the latest technology without harming your surroundings. Some people would imagine that chopping down their conventional SIM cards using a knife might work, but there is a substantial difference in the dimensions of a micro-SIM and nano-SIM
