For me, this song is the greatest emotional evocation of this dire mental situation, and is best served up with a dose of early Manic Street Preachers for the intellectual and political side of things. in the second verse i realise not all lyrics fit but afterall this is only my interpriataion, he goes on to describe how they fought and towards the end of her life although they didn't know she was to die she acted like he was 'part of her property' and how she mocked him, ending that little bit with 'i'm surprised it got so far' maybe meaning he was surprised the relationship went on after this point
