so i then proceeded to get out my 9 year old thinkpad running windows xp pro and iTunes 7.7.1, restored the iPod with the thinkpad, then the loop started again. It gave an error that I had to recover it using itunes, I recoverd my ipod and synced it again and after syncing I got another error that I had to restore it
