FastPictureViewer Codec Pack: PSD, CR2, NEF, DNG RAW codecs (and more) for Windows 8.x Desktop, Windows 7, Windows Vista and XP

Fri Jan 06, 2012: Version 3.1 was refreshed to 3.1.0.49 to fix a bug in the JPEG decoder occurring with rare files using the (rather uncommon and low-quality) 4:1:1 chroma subsampling. Some raw codecs and the Photoshop PSD codec also expose additional metadata elements to Windows Explorer (on Vista and later), such as the software version, exposure program, focal length, flash mode and more, where applicable

So I have a Speedlite on my wish list also, but I cannot justify it just yet since I don't use one for wildlife and I don't shoot in low light conditions. SK September 15, 2010 07:41 pm Hi Could you tell me, is the Canon SX 120 a DSLR or not? Can I change the lens on it?? thanks Mark September 7, 2010 01:47 am Vivek, a lot depends on what style of photography you are looking for

"Thank you" is basically all I know how to end my comment, and I am so eager (hungry even) to continue studying to methodoligies (is that even a word!?) and strategies... The HD video is spectacular! markus December 16, 2011 09:25 am Darren, I'd really like to see such a poll for the new range of system cameras (nikon 1 etc.)

Before choosing a photo to send, read the next question: Why does dcraw output have a green tint and weak color? Because dcraw doesn't have a color matrix for your camera model, it outputs raw color instead of sRGB. Libraries are more difficult to modify, build, install, and test than standalone programs, and so are inappropriate for file formats that change every day

Right now, it just seems like too much trouble, since it requires additional software to correct image distortion that the camera automatically corrects in JPEG. Also another tip - is subject likely to move? (ie flower in wind) 1.change from fixed focuing on half shutter press to continuous focusing when half pressed (this changes the box from green to blue)

There are plenty of manual controls to be found (including three RAW sizes), 5 fps continuous shooting, an electronic level, wireless flash control, and Full HD movie recording. There's very little to complain about, other than sluggish buffer clearing times, redeye, and the fact that the manual is only available in digital format

This same sensor also accommodates the Eye Sensor AF, which starts auto-focusing automatically by simply looking into the LVF, helping prevent missed shooting opportunities. Built-in wireless capabilities enable the GM5 to be remotely controlled from a linked mobile device and also supports image transfer to devices using the Panasonic Image App

It covers the same focal range as the LX5 but is two stops one stop faster and stays relatively fast throughout the entire zoom range; that's where both the Canon S100 and Sony RX100 are weak. The move to MOS from CCD brings capabilities like multishot in-camera HDR, up-to-date 1080p video capture, and a motion panorama mode (like Sony's Sweep Panorama )

A standard four-way control cluster serves to navigate menus and inside zoomed images, and the four outer buttons also serve as Focus, ISO, Function, and Self-timer buttons. Panasonic LX5 Image Processing A digicam's image starts at the lens, makes its way through the sensor, but is ultimately made by the camera's image processor

They are two of the more advanced models in this category and they are both capable of producing photo quality that other digital cameras in this category find hard to match

Panasonic Lumix DMC LX5 Review

  http://www.cameras.co.uk/reviews/panasonic-dmc-lx5.cfm
Zoom can be increased to a maximum of 6.7x when you decrease the number of megapixels you are shooting at from the maximum 10 to less than 3 megapixels. Picture quality sits up there with the best compact digital cameras and other features such as the quality of the LCD screen add a touch of extra class

  http://www.dcresource.com/reviews/panasonic/dmc-lx5-review/using
There's no way to remove redeye in playback mode, so make sure you have that feature turned on in the record menu! The LX5 has a rather elaborate text stamp feature, allowing you to print a name, location, travel date, and title, in addition to the date and time that the photo was taken. You can help reduce these further by using the Pre AF feature that I'll discuss below, and keeping the focus mode switch set to regular AF (instead of AF macro) probably helps, too
