One Of My Turns - Pink Floyd's "The Wall": A Complete Analysis
Left alone, alienated once more from the world, Pink cries out after the young woman, "Why are you running away?" The question is at once genuine and sarcastic, with Pink oblivious to the reason why all his relationships end with the same outcome as well as derisive of the departing woman, not surprised in the least that yet another attempt at personal connection has failed. While some view this action as a symbolic last ditch effort to connect with the world, the fact that Pink uses this moment of seeming defenseless vulnerability (after all, he is dangling precariously from his hotel high-rise, bleeding profusely) to rave maniacally and ominously threaten anyone within earshot with a screamed "Next time, fuckers!" speaks to the contrary
You would find yourself right in the middle of doing something, as you were passing the sugar or whatever, and you'd think, 'Well, damn! I didn't hear anybody say anything!' That was the first time in my life I'd ever met anybody that could actually do that freely. The first time out and he didn't put a note wrong." Shirley refers to "If It's In You," the track on which Syd can't find the melody and flounders, breaking stride throughout the song
PINK FLOYD Is There Anybody Out There? reviews and MP3
While the songs are passing, you will remember those parts in the movie and enter into a world of a mix of feelings, but in the end, your musical journey will be a total success. This Pink Floyd`s live album version, which was released in 2000, was also very well assembled and mixed by James Guthrie from different shows recorded during the "The Wall Tour"
PINK FLOYD Echoes - The Best Of Pink Floyd reviews and MP3
The band were not only experimenting with sound, they tore the heart out of the music machine that was churning out manufactured bubblegum pop in the 70s. Echoes includes a few songs from later Pink Floyd like 'The Division Bell.' "Echoes" has music samples of Pink Floyd from all their phases including the short Barrett era
The Syd Barrett Story
Peter Jenner: He'd come in to Abbey Road studios and glimpses of tunes would come out, and we'd think, 'Record that!' and thn it would disappear into incoherence again. You would find yourself right in the middle of doing something, as you were passing the sugar or whatever, and you'd think, 'Well, damn! I didn't hear anybody say anything!' That was the first time in my life I'd ever met anybody that could actually do that freely
As for 'Have A Cigar' that's sung by Roy Harper because Dave didn't want to sing it since he didn't like the lyrics (he had a point, too), it's probably okay by any average band standards, but consider it a Pink Floyd highlight? It's just a mid-tempo bluesy tune with nothing that stands out - just your standard rhythm, drums and singing. Overall, I must say that even if the album does have its poor sides (which is inevitable - what could you expect from a late Sixties experimental album in the hands of such a band as Pink), one has only to consider the guts and the nuts in order to appreciate it

Frequently Asked Questions - Pink Floyd's "The Wall": A Complete Analysis
What does that whisper say at the very beginning and ending of the album, right before "In the Flesh?" and after "Outside the Wall"? The beginning of the album says "...we came in?" and the ending says "Isn't this where..." For more info on this circular tidbit, click here. Do you think the band really put this much thought into the album's meaning, or could you be overanalyzing things? Chances are Shakespeare didn't put nearly as much thought into his works as our English teachers have led us to believe, yet there are libraries of books and scholarly journals solely dedicated to bard's work
All the songs are encouraging me, I imagine that I write them for me, it's to encourage myself not to accept a lead role in a cage, but to go on demanding to myself that I keep auditioning for a walk on part in the war, because that's where I want to be. The critic to the phonographic industry is notorious by the cover of the album (2 persons making a deal and one of them gets burned) and the songs "Welcome to the machine" and "Have a Cigar"
Hey you out there on your own Sitting naked by the phone Would you touch me? Hey you with you ear against the wall Waiting for someone to call out Would you touch me? Hey you, would you help me to carry the stone? Open your heart, I'm coming home. Hey you, out there on the road Always doing what you're told, Can you help me? Hey you, out there beyond the wall, Breaking bottles in the hall, Can you help me? Hey you, don't tell me there's no hope at all Together we stand, divided we fall
Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd Songfacts
What have we found? The same old fears.Wish you were here."Sarah - Chicago, IlLimp Bizkit butchered the song, its like trying to re-make a Beatle's song, you just dont do it.Tom - Northport, NyI love this song so much. If you want to experience something really interesting, play the beginning of the song, turn up the volume and then turn the balance to one speaker or the other, I'm not sure if it's the left or the right, but you will be able to clearly hear the cough and some sniffling and breathing and stuff
Pink Floyd Artistfacts
i believe that the reason for gilmour being as great as he is, is due to the fact that his playing is very "soulful", and heavily mixed with emotion and feeling. Louis, MoYeah, you'd have to be an idiot to have even found out that it syncs up in any way with that movie in the first place.Jonathon - Clermont, FlI don't know why, but i can't stop listening to "Waiting For The Worms."Ethan - Wanganui, New ZealandWho the hell plays Dark Side of the Moon during "The Wizard of Oz"? I think that's a better question than asking the band if they did that on purpose
