The EOS Rebel T5i's Peripheral Illumination Correction feature corrects light falloff in the corner of the image according to the characteristics of the lens being used. It offers four stops of correction to provide clear images when using slower shutter speeds, and its Dynamic Image Stabilization improves the look of video while tracking moving subjects or walking with your camera

Cutting-edge features-such as a large 3.0-inch LCD monitor with Live View Function, and a fast, precise 45-point AF system-make the EOS-1Ds Mark III powerful and versatile. And, of course, the EOS-1Ds Mark III is part of the unparalleled EOS System, which, with more than 50 EF lenses, 15 interchangeable focusing screens, and extensive wireless remote control and lighting accessories, is the most advanced and powerful digital photography system in the world

Although I occasionally do not move the 50D switch far enough to enable the RCD when powering the camera on and am left wondering why the RCD is not working, I personally do not find the new arrangement to be an advantage or disadvantage. It looks great and even though it has the same display size as the other Canon 3" LCDs, its reduced border size claims less space as can be seen in the comparison below

Another problem is that the use of preflash can trigger studio slave flash units which work by detecting the light from the triggering camera - analogue optical slaves. The 480EG is also the most powerful flash unit that Canon made, even though its advertised guide number was only 48 and thus seemingly lower than flash units like the 540EZ or 550EX

While it does not have the Fluorine-coated low-pass filter, the T1i's sensor arrived clean out of the box (news-worthy) and has not needed a cleaning to this review date. All lens focusing sounds are very-audibly recorded by the internal mono mic (no input port is provided for an external mic, auto sound levels are used) as are the aperture changes made by the auto exposure feature (unless exposure is locked - using the ISO button as the "*" button is used for Video AF)

Other things you can do with EOS Utility include customizing the My Menu (more on that later) and uploading Picture Styles that you've created with the software described below. You can then tweak the tone curve, color settings, contrast, and sharpness, and then save a new Picture Style, which can be used both on the camera and in the Digital Photo Professional software

No video monitor has enough resolution, nor does any computer monitor have as many pixels as any of these cameras; digital projectors only have one megapixel! Image Feel If you're looking, the image files from the Rebel T1i looks poor at large magnifications. (Self-portrait, Canon Digital Rebel T1i, built-in pop-up flash, 18-55mm IS.) Yes, this is a scary photo, but the flash popped exactly the right amount of light on my face, while the background is perfect, too

DIGIC 4 works in conjunction with the CMOS sensor to deliver exceptional noise reduction and 14-bit image processing for smooth gradation of tones and natural-looking colours. It includes a faster Digic 4 processor offering better noise reduction at higher ISO's and continuous shooting speeds of up to 3.4 fps delivering 170 large JPEG images in a single burst

So you get the 15MP sensor much like the one that appears in the 50D, helping this to become the first entry-level DSLR to feature video (and 1080p HD video at that). There are a handful of other specification tweaks that come from the use of the latest Digic 4 processor but essentially this is most of a 50D stuffed into the familiar 450D body
